My husband Mike is approaching his 50th birthday and was desperate to find a hobby that would help him have a healthier lifestyle. In April 2008 we were watching the London Marathon and there was a 90yr old man running. Mike was very inspired by this and thought that as he was half this chaps age he could do it as well so he started to jog the very next week. I also had a copy of Beth's book which has helped enormously to reinforce all the things we know we should be doing. Although I am not a runner I will accompany him by walking quite fast with our Labrador dog called Bob. I find the time planner very useful as I plan ahead so that the exercise happens and it keeps me organised. We encourage each other. I have just started dancing learning the Salsa at a local group in Devon, apart from the exercise it has been a great way of meeting new friends.

Mike has just completed a half marathon in Norwich and so far has lost 2 1/2 st in 6months. I hope you find Beth's book as inspirational as we have and make the necessary changes to your lives involving the whole family. Small changes are better than no changes. Here's to a healthier happier future
